My Approach

About Kerry

Meet Kerry, an experienced Pet Loss Support Facilitator, Reiki Master/Teacher and Mindfulness Coach who is committed to helping individuals learn healthy ways to cope with the stresses and challenges of life in order to become healthier and happier both physically and mentally.

Kerry’s journey as a Pet Loss Support Facilitator and Reiki Practitioner began after experiencing the loss of her own heart dog, Georgia, to cancer in 2006 at only 5 years old. Georgia's year-long battle with cancer prompted a deep dive into holistic health and wellness that has become an ongoing passion, and learning first hand how intensely painful and underrecognized pet loss grief is provided the inspiration to help others who are also struggling with issues such as grief, anxiety and stress.

Kerry is a strong advocate for self-care techniques such as Reiki and Mindfulness to help any individual improve their quality of life and physical and mental health. She especially enjoys helping those who are caregivers or who work in the veterinary field or human healthcare. Only by caring for our own wellbeing can we find the strength to keep helping others!

Kerry feels privileged to be able to work with pet parents who are navigating end-of-life decisions with their pets and to support them after the loss of a beloved animal family member. Her goal is to help them fully honor the bond they share and to find their way through grief toward healing. Over the years, Kerry has had the opportunity to witness how even the most profound grief or traumatic loss can be survived and transformed into healing through the power of compassionate, non-judgmental support, and the ability to share openly with peers who truly understand how deep the bond of love with a pet can be.

Kerry currently works in the veterinary field at a small animal practice and is a Certified Pet Loss Support Specialist through the Association for Pet Loss and Bereavement, where she has been on their volunteer staff facilitating online pet loss chats since 2010. She has also been a Certified Pet-Loss Grief Recovery Specialist through the American Academy of Grief Counseling since 2015. She is trained in Animal Hospice and Palliative care as well as Human-Animal Bond Certified through NAVTA.

Kerry is located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin but enjoys working with people from around the country to help them feel cared for and less alone during some of the toughest times in their lives. She especially loves connecting with other pet parents who love their pets as much as she loves her two English Bulldog boys, Duncan & Bruno.
